Counselor Hannah Chong completed her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Moody Theological Seminary. Her mission is to provide a safe and compassionate space where clients can be themselves and gain insights that lead to healing and recovery. Counselor Chong works to build trust with her clients by meeting them where they are and offering a client-centered approach that fosters growth, resilience, and a renewed sense of hope.
Counselor Chong specializes in supporting individuals navigating interpersonal conflicts, identity concerns, trauma, addiction, spiritual struggles, and psychological challenges such as anxiety and depression. She believes that every person is unique and that counseling is not a one-size-fits-all process. Instead, she seeks to understand each client as an individual and thoughtfully consider their personal background and experiences. She has a particular interest in supporting adolescents and young adults as they face age-, environment-, and culture-specific challenges.
Counselor Chong is a 1.5-generation Korean immigrant who was born in China, raised in North Carolina, and lived abroad in South Korea, Nepal, and Mexico before settling in Illinois. This diverse background allows her to naturally approach counseling from a multicultural perspective when working with clients from varied contexts. She also has experience in hospital settings, enabling her to provide solution-focused and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)-based interventions tailored to client preferences. Additionally, her Christian faith allows for the integration of mental health and spiritual life when desired by the client.
Counselor Chong welcomes the opportunity to walk alongside clients on their journey toward healing and looks forward to creating a supportive space where meaningful change can begin.
